We came across something we needed to confirm” – Lagos Police Speak On Seun Kuti’s Home Raid

The Lagos State Police Command has revealed why its officers searched Seun Kuti’s home, the youngest son of Afrobeats pioneer Fela Kuti.

On Tuesday, police officers raided the home of afrobeat musician Seun Kuti on Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos, to conduct a search.

An eyewitness informed Punch in an interview that after the search, police officers grabbed Seun Kuti’s wife’s phone.

“Police officers raided Seun’s home on my street, Akin Osiyemi, and he was in the vehicle with them while handcuffed.” They stormed inside his residence and searched it. “However, they also took his wife’s phone before driving off with Seun Kuti,” an eyewitness added.

The Lagos State Police have revealed why Seun Kuti’s house was raided Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s public relations officer, stated that the command got a warrant to search Seun Kuti’s home. He revealed that it was also a part of their continuing investigations.

“It’s part of our ongoing inquiries.” We were investigating an assault when we came across some information that needed to be confirmed. “We obtained a properly issued search warrant, which we carried out,” Hundeyin told Punch.
