The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has yet to make a decision on Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro’s future.
Peseiro’s contract expires at the end of next month, and there are indications that the NFF will not renew his contract.
The Super Eagles will face the Sierra Leone Stars next month, with assistant coach Salisu Yusuf rumored to have been named head coach for the game by the NFF.
Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Football House, has since refuted the report.
“I’m not sure where they got these reports because I have not mandated anyone to look for a new coach, nor has NFF begun talks with anyone to replace our current coach.”
To be honest, we haven’t even decided on Peseiro’s contract, let alone hired a new coach, at the board level.”
Gusau told journalists in AbujaThe NFF has signed Peseiro until June 2022.
The Super Eagles have performed poorly under his guidance, and football supporters in Nigeria have called for his dismissal.
