Pepe Reina, a former Barcelona goalkeeper, has urged Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior that he must develop in his behavior and show more respect to his opponents amid his racism controversy.
During Real Madrid’s 1-0 loss to Los Che at the Mestalla last weekend, Vinicius was subjected to racist chanting from Valencia fans.
As emotions between himself and Valencia fans grew, the Brazilian international was targeted with monkey chants.
“Vinícius? The less you provoke the rival fans and the less you protest to the referee, the more respect you will have from everyone,” Reina told Marca.
“He is becoming one of the best in the world but I think he must mature in behaviour and have more respect for his rivals.”
