Police prevent a street vendor from jumping into the Lagos Lagoon.

On Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad stopped a 25-year-old street hawker from jumping into the lagoon.

On Tuesday, the team announced this on its Twitter page.

Part of the tweet read,

Around 8:00 a.m., the hawker, Rabiu Nafiu, was halted from jumping into the lagoon.

“When he saw the RRS officers approaching him, Nafiu warned them not to stop him from jumping.” The cops were able to calm him down before escorting him off the bridge.

“He has been transferred to RRS HQ on the instruction of the Commander of RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.”
