Daniel Bwala, a key member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign, has stated that the PDP will take power from President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu six months after his inauguration.
The PDP and Atiku are contesting Tinubu’s election as president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
INEC, Tinubu, and the APC are listed as the petition’s first through third respondents.
On Thursday, May 18, the Presidential Election suit Court will begin the pre-hearing of the suit filed by the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
During an interview with ARISE TV on the petition, Bwala was asked what he thought about the APC’s claim that the PDP has the longest history
The country has a history of electoral malfeasance.
Bwala, who served as the spokesperson for Atiku’s presidential campaign council during the 2014 general election, said that while he couldn’t completely deny the claims, the PDP had sought to redeem itself by apologizing to Nigerians and promising to do better if given the chance to reign again.”PDP has admitted that they made so many mistakes over the years,” he remarked. I recall Secondus, when he was the party’s chairman, going on a campaign around the country to apologize to Nigerians. Is it possible that APC has ever said, “We are sorry”?
“This is a party that wishes to turn lies into statecraft.” They stated that the president-elect was going on an official visit to meet with investors and do this and that. How long has he been gone? We haven’t seen any pictures of him getting off a plane or investors welcoming him.”
Concerning his optimism about the PDP’s chances in court, he stated that after Tinubu is inaugurated on May 29, he will consult with him.
He would only be in charge for six or seven months before being fired and the PDP taking over.
“When he (Tinubu) becomes president on May 29, he’ll have about six or seven months before he’s sacked, and then we’ll come and take over power,” he stated.
