The organizing committee for Abia State’s re-dedication and governor-elect Alex Otti’s Thanksgiving Service has set a seven-day prayer and fasting period before to Otti’s inauguration on May 29.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the committee’s chairman and secretary, Uzor Nwachukwu and Bertrand Okeomah, respectively, the program was part of the events planned for Otti’s inauguration as Abia’s 10th governor.
It was also stated that the spiritual purification would begin on Sunday, May 21 with prayer and fasting and end on Friday, May 26.
The event to herald in a new wave of spirituality will be capped off with a ‘Re-dedication Retreat’ on May 27 at Ngwa High School in Aba, according to the organizers.

It went on to say that the spiritual retreat had already received the blessing of the Abia branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
“Similarly, a post-inauguration state thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, June 4, at the Umuahia Township Stadium at noon,” the statement continued.
CAN, on the other hand, has urged all of its member churches in Abia to participate in the prayer and fasting sessions.The decision was made by Abia CAN chairman Emmanuel Agomoh, according to Mgbeahuru Okey, CAN’s secretary.
