Yesterday, an Izaga Masquerade narrowly missed death after being engaged in a tragic road traffic accident at Awkuzu Junction in Anambra State’s Oyi Local Government Area.
The collision included a BAU Cement Truck and a Santa/KC Motorcycle.
In addition to the Izaga Masquerade, it was learned that four adult guys were participating.
According to eyewitnesses, the rider carrying him was attempting to overtake a truck when the masquerade’s long legs collided with the truck, causing the other passenger on the same motorcycle to fall off and be crushed to death by the moving truck’s back tyre.
Meanwhile, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, issued a statement regarding the road traffic accident.
The reason of the collision was linked to a load violation, and one of the male adults died in the crash.
“Four male adults were involved in the crash,” Irelewuyi stated. One male adult (the pillon) was killed, one male adult was injured, and two male adults were recovered unharmed.
“The FRSC rescue team from RS5.33 Nteje in Anambra State rushed the victim to Chira Hospital in Akwuzu, where one male adult was confirmed dead and his corpse was deposited at the same wisdom mortuary.”
“The team also made certain that any obstruction caused by the crash was removed.” As of the time of writing, the truck driver has been turned over to the Oyi Police Division.”
Irelewuyi, on the other hand, expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased victim and wished the injured well.
