Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has announced that attacker Antony has suffered a’serious’ injury. The Brazil international was stretchered off during Thursday’s 4-1 victory over Chelsea.
Manchester United’s position in the next Champions League was assured, but Antony’s injury threw a shadow over the victory.
Following what appeared to be a clean challenge from Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, the Ajax star tumbled down and was left in agony.
Around the 25-minute mark, Antony was carried off in tears, and Marcus Rashford was presented as his replacement.
Ten Hag told Sky Sports about Antony when asked about him.
“It’s difficult to say…
“I don’t know. Everyone saw he came off.
“I can tell you it is serious but we have to wait a minimum of 24 hours and then we will probably know more about the status of his injury.”
