Erling Haaland of Manchester City has praised Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, stating the Dutchman is exceptional at what he does.
Haaland said that the Dutch international is the toughest defender he has faced in the Premier League thus far.
Haaland has 36 goals and seven assists in 34 Premier League matches this season, making him the fastest player to reach that mark in a season.
One defender, according to the 22-year-old, has given him a run for his money. Van Dijk is, of course, that defender.
“There’s many good defenders,” the striker said during an interview with Optus Sport.
“I have to say, Liverpool’s Van Dijk is so good.
“I’ve met him many times with (the) national team, played in Salzburg, met him; he’s really good. That’s who I can think of right now.”
