LA LIGA Wants More Authority To Address Racism In The League

La Liga will want “more sanctioning powers” in order to address racist occurrences in Spanish sport.

This season, Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has been the target of racial comments on numerous occasions.

The Spanish league’s handling of the latest incident, which occurred on Sunday in Valencia, has drawn significant criticism.

La Liga can presently only identify and report cases under Spanish law, but not implement sanctions, making it feel “powerless.”

It also expressed “tremendous frustration” with the authorities to whom it reports’ lack of punishments and convictions.
