The event allegedly occurred in the early hours of Monday in the Keke hamlet in the state’s Chikun Local Government Area.

Muhammed Jalige, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, verified the development to Channels Television over the phone, adding he is awaiting complete information of the incident from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Millennium City.

According to a local source who talked to Channels Television, the victim was on the radar of security agents, who followed him to an apartment in the Keke hamlet in Chikun local government.

He’s been in hiding.

According to the source, a combined squad of police officers, Department of State Security Services officials, and troops surrounded the residence and engaged the suspect in a gun duel.

However, as security personnel approached, the accused terrorist blew himself up with an improvised explosive device.

An AK-47 rifle was seized inside the man’s flat, along with two other live explosive devices, which were later safely detonated by the Kaduna State Police Command’s anti-bomb unit.

Meanwhile, the man’s mangled body was subsequently removed from the site by security personnel, who also removed his wife and children for further investigation.
