Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has informed club supporters that he does not want a farewell as he prepares for what may be his final game in command.
Lampard stated that this is due to his potential return to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are likely to name former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino as their new permanent manager.
Lampard has overseen ten games as the club’s temporary manager and has only managed to win one. In their most recent match, the Blues were crushed 4-1 by Manchester United.
Lampard told the press on Friday, ahead of the end-of-season Premier League fixtures on Sunday,
“I don’t want this to sound corny, but I don’t feel like it is goodbye.
“Normally when you leave a club you don’t have a hurrah as a manager. You are in one day, out the next, and that’s fine.”
