How I Staged My Nephew’s Kidnapping and Demanded N20 Million – Woman

Zainab Rabiu, 45, of Gwammaja Quarters in Kano city, Kano State, has been detained for reportedly kidnapping her brother’s six-year-old son, Almustapha Bashir, in Dala LGA.

The suspect was apprehended together with three other people involved in the crime.

The incident occurred sometime in April, when the youngster was proclaimed missing by his parents, who reported the incident to the authorities.

It was also learned that the victim’s father was contacted later by some people who sought a N20m ransom but ultimately consented to collect N5m after talks.

While presenting the accused, the state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Muhammed Usaini Gumel, stated, “In a follow-up investigation by the police command, the victim was rescued.”The state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), who was unharmed, and his aunt, Zainab Rabiu, were arrested, as were three others, Abdulrasheed Saidu (27), Hassan Abdullahi (24), and Ahmed Saleh (25).”

The main suspect, Zainab, described how she orchestrated the crime by leading one of the suspects to her younger brother’s house and instructing him to take the boy.

“His father is my younger brother,” she explained. I did it to obtain some money, but I didn’t even get N1 from the N5 million I gathered. I was arrested once they collected the money. “I deeply regret what I did and will never do it again.”
