Oludipe Oluwasanmi is a sensational singer. David, also known as Spyro, has revealed how he obtained a bank loan to fund his cooperation with Davido and Mayorkun.
Remember that the rising artist used the DMW boss and Mayorkun on his single ‘Funke,’ which was not a commercial success.
He stated he struggled for three years to repay the loan after slipping out of the spotlight when the song’s early popularity faded.
The ‘Who’s Your Guy’ singer revealed this in a recent interview with Lagos’ Cool FM.
“When I dropped ‘Funke’ and the song popped,” Spyro explained. On the song, I had David (Davido) and Mayorkun. And when I dropped ‘Funke’ and my career continued to decline, I was like, ‘Oh! Will I ever rise again?’
“I popped, but I fell because there was no structure.” There was nothing there. While I was still signed to Upfront & Personal, I took out a bank loan to finance that particular album. When that term expired, I was required to begin repaying the debt. That was extremely difficult because I had paid for three years.”
