Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s interim manager, has stated that during his first term, he attempted to sign Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
From July 2019 through January 2021, Lampard was the Blues’ permanent manager.
He claimed that he attempted to bring Haaland to Stamford Bridge, but the deal fell through.
Lampard will see Haaland this weekend when he guides Chelsea to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.
“I have a lot of respect for him.” He is a player I attempted to bring to Chelsea during my time here.
“I was desperate to get him, but that couldn’t happen.” When we played against him in Salzburg, his level was obvious.
“He deserves credit.” I enjoy seeing players of that caliber.
“In terms of having to deal with it,”You have to have a plan and an idea with him, but players at that level can make anything happen at any time,” Lampard told reporters on Friday.
