Gary Neville, a former Manchester United defender, has chosen Manchester City striker Erling Haaland the Premier League Player of the Year.
This follows the player’s achievements this season, in which he scored nearly 50 goals in his debut season in the English Premier League.
Haaland has 36 goals and seven assists in 34 Premier League matches this season, making him the fastest player to reach that mark in a season.
He helped City to the Champions League final, the FA Cup final, and the Premier League trophy, which they won on Sunday.
“It is the first time that the Premier League has signed a player who is going to be the best in the world or is already at that level.
“They go to Real Madrid, they go to Barcelona, in recent years they have gone to Paris Saint-Germain. They do not go to the Premier League. We have grown the best players in the world,” he said.
