Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s interim manager, has praised Manchester United’s “clinical nature” in front of goal.
That, according to Lampard, was the difference in the Blues’ 4-1 loss at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Mykhailo Mudryk squandered an early chance for the Blues before Casemiro headed in the opening goal. Before the half, Anthony Martial made it 2-0.
Bruno Fernandes’ penalty was converted, and Marcus Rashford added a fourth.
Chelsea’s Joao Felix equalized at Old Trafford.
Lampard said to Sky Sports:
“The clinical nature in front of goal. We were the better football team in the first half – in possession, chances we matched them at least.
“To be 2-0 down is probably a sign of where we’re at. Second half, probably a sign of where we’re at.”
