Xavi, the manager of Barcelona, has proclaimed Manchester City the finest team in the world.
Xavi mentioned this while saying that Manchester City deserved their recent 4-0 triumph against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg.
In midweek, Manchester City eliminated Real Madrid from the Champions League after winning the semi-final round on a 5-1 aggregate score.
Xavi remarked at his pre-match news conference ahead of Barcelona’s La Liga match against Real Sociedad on Saturday night (via Barca Universal):
“It must have been a joy for the Cules, but as professionals, we place a high value on La Liga.”
“The value is not that Madrid loses; the value is seeing the fans’ joy.” Man City were deserving champions semi-finals. They are, in my opinion, the best team in the world.”
