Olumide Adeyinka-Fusika (SAN), the lawyer for troubled afrobeat musician Seun Kuti, has stated that he is ignorant that the police have seized his client’s weapons license.
According to a source who told Punch about the seized gun license:
“On Tuesday, officers searched Seun Kuti’s home and found only a gun license, which they seized.” I can certify that the command is working on cancelling the license right now.”
However, Olumide maintained that there is no connection between his client’s assault on a police officer and a weapons license.
“Unfortunately, I’m not aware of this,” he remarked. A license, on the other hand, is not a gun. A gun license is just a piece of paper that authorizes the bearer to own and possess a certain type of firearm (a gun).
“What, after all, is the connection between the allegation of slapping a cop and the seizure of his gun license by the police?”
