After failing to qualify for next season’s UCL, Mohamed Salah sends a message to Liverpool fans.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s midfielder, has expressed his unhappiness at the Reds’ failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool’s hopes of finishing in the top four were dashed on Thursday, May 25th, 2023, when Manchester United defeated Chelsea 4-1 at Old Trafford. The Reds needed a win over Southampton and for the Red Devils to lose their final two games against Chelsea and Fulham.

Salah apologized to Liverpool fans on his official Twitter account shortly after the game.

I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed. We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down.

Next season, Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Manchester United will compete in the Champions League, while Liverpool and Brighton will compete in the Europa League.
