In 11 months, NDIC recovers N8.3 billion for depositors from banks

Bello Hassan, the managing director and chief executive officer of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), has revealed that the organization has recovered N8.3 billion from several banks on behalf of depositors.

Between January and November 2022, the Corporation also resolved 248 complaints.

On Thursday, the Corporation’s special day at the 43rd Kano International Trade Fair, he revealed the information.

Hassan claims that during the evaluation period, NDIC received a variety of complaints, including those involving unauthorized withdrawals, POS (Point of Sales), fraud, charges, and fee problems.

He said that the NDIC’s complaint reporting tools are operational and available for use by all Nigerians.

I’m pleased to inform you that between January and November 2022, the Corporation successfully handled 248 complaints and assisted depositors in recovering almost N8.3 billion from their respective banks, the man stated.
