Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo state, has said that the South will be producing the next President for another eight years.
Akeredolu stated that the fight for the Southern region of the country to produce the next President must continue till it is realized while hosting former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi at the Government House, Alagbaka, Akure.
Amaechi was in Akure at the time for the ceremony presenting the office staff to Olu Falae as the new Olu of Ilu Abo in Akure North Local Government Area.
In the interest of fairness and equity, the governor asked the populace to support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stated that since President Muhammadu Buhari of the North is serving an eight-year term, it is now the South’s turn to elect the leader of the country for a further eight years.
The governor praised Amaechi and noted that no APC supporter could ever forget his crucial work as director general of the party’s 2015 presidential campaign.
“He commended the former minister for traveling to Akure to honor Chief Falae and added that the state is proud of the monarch since he has served Nigeria very well.
“We appreciate your visit. Chief Falae has performed admirably in his service to this nation, and we in Ondo State are extremely proud of him.
As soon as he left the bank, he was appointed minister of finance and secretary to the government of the federation. He has therefore done his best, and when he is less busy, the Governor added, he would find time to give us advise.
Amaechi also praised Akeredolu for upgrading Chief Olu Falae, praising him as one of the few famous and patriotic Nigerian elites who had faithfully served his country.
Because of my presidential campaign, Chief Olu Falae and I were acquainted. We went to his residence in Akure. I then traveled to see Chief Olu Falae, whom you generously acknowledged in the Panel report, he said.
The previous transportation minister praised Akeredolu for his leadership abilities and for always pushing the boundaries of responsible government in the nation.
