The Electoral Logistics Committee was inaugurated by Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Friday (ELOC).
The group is in charge of making sure that logistics run smoothly before, during, and after the general elections in 2023.
Yakubu emphasized the importance of the committee to the smooth operation of the elections.
Yakubu noted that due to low visibility, certain airports were unable to receive flights carrying crucial electoral materials for the 2019 election.
He encouraged the group to provide regular reports via the committee’s INEC National Commissioner chairperson.
The chairman stated that INEC has the authority to ask for the armed forces’ cooperation under Section 27(3) of the Electoral Act 2022.
