Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, has asked Nigerians to pray against floods and other natural disasters coming back to the country.
Abubakar said this on Saturday in Bauchi, when the 12th Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Farouq Umar, was crowned and given the Staff of Office.
The Sultan, who was represented by the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, said that all natural disasters, like floods, were planned by the All-Powerful Allah and that everyone should accept them in good faith.
He said, “We’re also here to sympathise with our brothers and sisters who have died or been affected by the recent floods in the country.”
He also said that in such a situation, people have no choice but to accept whatever happens.
The Sultan also praised Governor Bala Mohammed for giving one of the flag bearers of the Usman Danfodio Caliphate the Staff of Office.
Remember that floods in Nigeria in the past few days have killed people and damaged property, and that thousands of jobs are at risk as companies try to get back on their feet.
