Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), criticized Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), for skipping the presidential debate in Abuja.
Kwankwaso argued that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, the PDP’s presidential running mate, was superior than Tinubu.
At the discussion held on Sunday in Abuja by Arise Television and the Centre for Development and Democracy, CDD, Okowa represented PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, Kwankwaso, Atiku, and Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were anticipated at the debate.
While Tinubu did not attend the event or send a delegate, Atiku, who was not present, did.
Speaking at the event, Kwankwaso remarked that some presidential candidates may need their running mates to represent them at events due to their hectic schedules.
As said by Kwankwaso:
“No candidate can boast that they will attend every one,”
“Any group hosting this kind of event should accept it.
“I believe the man here (indicating Okowa) is superior to the individual who did not send a representation,” the speaker said.
