The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has asserted that the People’s Democratic Party cannot prevail in the 2023 presidential election without his assistance.
If he and the other four Governors in his group opted to resign, Governor Wike warned that the PDP would lose.
Seyi Makinde, Okezie Ikpeazu, the governor of Abia State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, all back Governor Wike.
Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, has been called to resign by the administration of Rivers State Governor.
Governor Wike stated that he and his supporters are dedicated to having an influence in the party during a media interview on Friday at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
The PDP governor bragged about how his financial assistance helped the main opposition party win some states.
He issued a warning that the PDP must change its behavior if it hopes to win the 2023 election.
“PDP cannot win the election if I leave the party today,” stated Wike. If the five PDP governors announce their resignation today, we are not just any governors; we are steadfast and incredibly committed.
“No one wants to run for office while continuing to act in the same manner. They cannot deny that I have given numerous states financial support in the past to help them win elections, including Plateau, Ondo, and Cross Rivers.
