Rev. Emmanuel Adeyinka Aribasoye, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Ekiti and President of the Ekiti Baptist Conference, has tasked the incoming Ekiti government with upholding the fundamental principles for which the Ekiti people were renowned.

During a press conference with journalists in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, Reverend Aribasoye delivered the charge.

He emphasized that the reinstatement of the Ekiti fundamental values of honor, decency, respect, and dignity—values that are associated with the state’s “Oni Uyi” awards—was one of Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s administration’s greatest triumphs.

He thus counseled the next administration to uphold the region’s already-restored basic principles and to prioritize the welfare of the workforce.

He tasked the incoming Biodun Oyebanji-led administration with fostering small-scale industry growth, encouraging tourism, and revitalizing the state’s textile sector.

The clergy urged Christians to shift their perspectives from relying solely on prayer for good government to actively engaging in politics in order to bring about the necessary change for the nation to turn around.
