Senior Nigerian lawyers Awa Kalu and Umeh Kalu, a former Abia State attorney general and commissioner of justice, claim that their community, Ohafia, has long been underserved and neglected.
The legal experts argued that equity requires giving the Ohafia clan the chance to produce the next member of the House of Representatives for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
Both spoke during the Ohafia stakeholders gathering in Calabar on Saturday, which was attended by important businesspeople, lawmakers, and professionals from the clan.
Ohafia had been consistently underserved in the distribution of political posts in the constituency since 1999, according to Chief Umeh Kalu. It is time for our community to come together and fight for the future of our people.
Dr. Michael Mba, vice president of the Mben Political Assembly, also bemoaned the dire situation in Abia State, particularly in the constituency.
