The Plateau State University Bokkos (PLASU) chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has denied rumors that classes will start there on Monday.
The union claims that it was still on strike, which had been announced by its national body more than seven months prior, and that its national executive could only order the action to end.
ASUU, PLASU chapter, through its Secretary, Comrade Deme Samson, briefed journalists in Jos, the state capital, on its stance on Tuesday.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Plateau State University wishes to tell the public that there was no Senate meeting that deliberated and approved October 10, 2022, as the resumption date in advance of the start of lectures, he said.
The union claims that “a Senate meeting was held on September 26, 2022, with agreement of the National Executive Council of ASUU, to agree on an issue that is different from what the management decided to broadcast.
