At their Sunday meeting in Enugu State, the governors of the South-East zone decided to establish 24-hour patrol teams on all of the region’s important roadways.

In light of the upcoming elections, they pleaded with the Federal Government to assist them by ensuring security in the area.
Dave Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State and chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, read the communique and stated that they had agreed to establish a 24-hour Joint Patrol on all important roadways in the region, particularly during the Christmas season.
The governors praised the Federal Government and the States for their efforts to lessen the suffering of those affected by the current flood threat in the Nation.
According to him, the governors of the five states in the South East have resolved to pool their resources to provide further relief to those affected by flooding.
“We also implore the Federal Government to please begin dredging South Eastern rivers in order to lessen the destruction of homes, farms, and other properties. We kindly ask the Federal Government to assist the victims by resettling the internally displaced people.
