Wednesday, environmental officers found a man who had been locked up for 20 years on Benin Street in the center of the city of Kaduna.
Wednesday, the environmental officers who found the middle-aged man told reporters that they were really shocked by what they had found.
Their spokesman, who asked to remain anonymous, said, “We came to this house today looking for drinks that people usually keep in their homes without proper storage facilities. When we got there, we saw a naked man locked up in a room.”
“We found that he was in an awkward place. The smell coming from the room was too strong to stand.
“Eventually, we broke into the room and got him out. He was behaving like an animal. Then we found out that he had been kept in the room for 20 years.
“We also learned that he ate in the room. He goes to the bathroom and poops in the same room.
Later, the Magaji Gari police in the center of Kaduna Central were called and took him away.
When this report was written, there was no official word from the police.
