Nigerians Want Us Back In Power and Are Hungry, Sick, and Uninterested In The PDP Crisis, Says Ayu

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, has lamented the difficulties Nigerians are having to endure under the presidency of Muhammadu Buhari.

Ayu added that Nigerians are unconcerned with the party’s current issue and only want the PDP to retake power in 2023.

Additionally, he urged everyone to support the party’s election campaign in 2023.

This was spoken by Ayu on Monday in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom, at the start of the PDP presidential rally.

Ayu made the point that the PDP needs every member to “come on board” and work for the party’s triumph in the 2023 elections while making an allusion to the camp of Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State.

Before Ayu’s resignation as national chairman, Wike and his followers had promised not to take part in the PDP’s presidential campaign.

The flag-off ceremony on Monday was skipped by the governor of Rivers and his allies, including Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu.

Ayu voiced hope for the party’s prospects, noting that the campaign is off to a “slow” start to allow for the participation of other disgruntled members.

“We are going slowly so that others who haven’t yet boarded can do so. We must consider it as leaders. “Nigeria is waiting for us to come and rescue them from what is disturbing them; Nigeria is not interested in our personal disputes,” he remarked.

“Nigerians lack food, they are afflicted with various diseases, they cannot travel from one location to another without feeling anxious, and they are unable to sleep due to their sense of insecurity.

“Nigerians are becoming more and more split; they are moaning and hoping that we would return to help them in the same way that we have during the past 16 years.

“Let’s work together, since we have the answer. We have already written down the agreement with Nigerians. We’ll bring back the economy to its former grandeur.

“All young people will get jobs; the economy will grow; there will be more industries. Every governor of the PDP has done well. Therefore, when we get to power from state houses of assembly to the state governors, the national assembly, we need all of them to support our president who is coming to power next year to redeem Nigerians. PDP will not let you down.
