The Lagos State Police Command has seized Harrison Tare Okiri, better known by his stage name Harrysong, a well-known singer, composer, and musician from Nigeria.
Tuesday, just after arriving in Nigeria, the musician was detained at the Lagos Airport. Following a letter that Nigerian music producer and artist manager Soso Soberekon wrote to the Inspector General of Police IGP, Usman Baba-Alkali.
In a recent interview, Harrysong said that Soso was his enemy and that he wanted to have him assassinated in Port Harcourt.
Soberekon responded to the accusation by threatening Harrysong with legal action on his Instagram page. and asked for the remark to be retracted, an apology, and N500,000,000 in damages.
In addition, Soberekon stated:
In reality, I always take care of business, stay in my lane, and make others smile. Harrysong’s blatantly false, careless, and slanderous statement is quite disheartening.
The Police Public Relations Officer just stated that Harrysong is currently in our custody after confirming the occurrence.
