Abubakar Mohammed, a father of seven, was given the death penalty for murdering his fiancée in retaliation over money practices.
After a friend, Buhari Mohammed, told him he might make N10 million from someone hunting for human eyeballs, the criminal killed Christiana Augustin and took her eyes and other body parts.
To get Christiana to meet him at the unfinished building where they typically met, Abubakar went to her home. After slitting her throat and removing her eyes, he pulled out his knife.
The body of Christiana was discovered in the unfinished structure the following day, leading to his arrest.
After being found guilty of having the body parts and offering them for sale, Abubakar was convicted for culpable homicide by Justice Bulila Ikaro of the Adamawa State High Court in Yola.
