On Sunday, the Nigerian Army reported that soldiers from its 1st Division cleared the area around Maidaro, Kagi Hill, Kusharki, and Anguwan Madaki in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, neutralized seven terrorists, and found weapons and ammunition there.
Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations, said in a statement on Sunday that the soldiers came into touch with the terrorists and, in the ensuing violent combat, neutralized four bandits.
He claimed that while troops discovered two AK 47 rifles with two rounds of 7.62mm special, one automatic pump action gun with three cartridges, six dane guns, three locally made handguns with one 9mm round, and four motorcycles, other criminals fled in confusion.
According to the report, in a separate operation, army personnel stationed in the general areas of Sabon Birnin-Zartake, Ungwan Lima Riyawa, and Tungan Madaki stopped three more terrorists who were fleeing from Kagi Hill.
In the statement, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) thanked and commended soldiers for their valor and asked them to continue their efforts until the region is free of terrorism and other criminal activity.
