A takeover of Twitter is underway as Elon Musk dismisses top executives

It appears like Twitter has entered the Elon Musk age.

Top executives have reportedly been let go, including the CEO Parag Agrawal, the CFO Ned Segal, and the head of legal Vijaya Gadde.

This follows the eccentric billionaire’s odd arrival at Twitter’s San Francisco offices on Wednesday, lugging a kitchen sink, just before finalizing his $44 billion deal to buy the microblogging service.

The Tesla CEO tweeted, “Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in.”

Mr. Musk updated his Twitter profile to identify himself as “Chief Twit” and to specify Twitter’s headquarters as his place of residence.

After he attempted to back out of the acquisition agreement in April, a court gave him until Friday to complete the transaction.

The world’s richest man, Mr. Musk, agreed to purchase the business in April for $54.20 per share, but by July he had suggested that he had changed his mind due to bot and spam problems.

Earlier this month, he tried again to buy the business.

During his visit, Mr. Musk reportedly informed Twitter employees that he has no intention of laying off 75% of the company’s workforce after purchasing it.
