Tuesday’s meeting between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) leadership and House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila is planned.
On Sunday night, Lanre Lasisi, Gbajabiamila’s special adviser on media and publicity, verified the development.
The meeting is anticipated to include participation from the house leadership and other interested parties.
The purpose of the gathering is to find a resolution to the labor dispute that has stopped academic operations at public colleges since February.
The federal government has had numerous meetings with the ASUU leadership in an effort to meet the union’s demands, which include funding for institutions as well as pay and benefits for lecturers.
In connection with the ongoing strike, the federal government has filed a lawsuit against the union at the national industrial court.
