Aisha Yesufu, a well-known activist and social critic in Nigeria, has criticized Emeka Ihedioha, the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, for his recent remarks in which he referred to Peter Obi’s followers as saboteurs.
Remember that if Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, wins next year’s election, Ihedioha had previously stated that Nigeria’s presidency would rotate to the South-East following his term.
Additionally, he labeled as saboteurs people who backed Peter Obi and the Labour Party.
In the video, Ihedioha noted that the PDP and the All Progressives Congress are the two parties running in the election and that Nigeria could not afford to make mistakes.
In a video response to Ihedioha’s statement, a human rights activist said that Ihedioha had intentionally held everyone else at the bottom so that he would be the only one riding at the top.
“You referred to voters as saboteurs because they dared to vote for transparent, accountable, and good government.
“You referred to the people who dared to vote for a candidate who possesses the competence, character, and capacity as saboteurs.
“You’re telling people as you sit there that the Igbos will lead the way after Atiku Abubakar. No, it will be your turn; for this reason, you want people to vote for you, even if they think a better candidate is from another part of the country.
“You are the saboteur; we are not doing this to you. You and people like you have hampered the development of Nigeria by acting solely in their own self-interest.
