Imu Ovaioza Yunusa, the CEO of the Ovaioza Group of Companies, who was detained by the FCT Police Command for scamming investors, has been charged with 28 counts of advance fee fraud and defrauded people out of a total of around N408,250,739 in total.
However, Ovaioza’s case was put on hold on Wednesday at the Federal High Court in Abuja because Justice M.O. Olajuwon, the presiding judge, was absent.
Recall that on Monday, April 18, Yunusa was taken into custody and sent to the police headquarters under the supervision of the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID)
The IGP who accused Ovaioza of lying about offering investors a 70% return on their investment in her agricultural firm, Ovaioza Farm Produce Storage Business (OFPSB), filed a lawsuit against her.

“That sometime between 2020 and 2022, in the Federal Capital Territory, within the jurisdiction of this honorable court, you IMU YUNUSA (A.K.A. OVAIOZA) and OVAIOZA FARM PRODUCE STORAGE BUSINESS LIMITED did obtain the sum of about Five Million, One Hundred Thousand Naira (N5,100,000.00) from one Ifemosha Christian under the false pretense that you are investing the said sum in a sizable Food Processing/Storage

That sometime between 2020 and 2022, in the Federal Capital Territory, within the jurisdiction of this honorable court, you IMU YUNUSA (A.K.A. OVAIOZA) and OVAIOZA FARM PRODUCE STORAGE BUSINESS LIMITED did obtain the sum of about N8,696,574.00 from a Mrs. Victoria Nneka Okorie under the false pretense that you are investing the said sum in a sizable food processing/storage company that has the potential to
COUNT 17:
That between 2020 and 2022, in the Federal Capital Territory, within the purview of this honorable court, you, IMU YUNUSA (also known as OVAIOZA), and OVAIOZA FARM PRODUCE STORAGE BUSINESS LIMITED, obtained the sum of approximately N1,414,210.00 from a person named Okorie Cassandra Anurika under the false pretense that you are investing the said sum in a sizable food processing/storage company that has the capacity to
