Chelsea and Manchester United have been warned they may not be anywhere near top four in the Premier League next season following Arsenal’s spending this summer.
Arsenal are spending big this summer with their targets and successful bids drawing praise from pundits and fans alike.
And former Newcastle United star, Darren Ambrose feels the Gunners’ transfer moves should worry the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea who have been so quiet in the market.
Arsenal spent over £160million last summer, bringing in Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Martin Odegaard, and Takehiro Tomiyasu, amongst others.
And the Gunners are willing to spend up to £215m this summer with deals for the likes of Marquinhos (£3m), Fabio Vieira, (£34m) and Matt Turner (£7.55m), already done.
According to reports in Europe, they are favourites to sign Premier League stars, Gabriel Jesus and Raphinha.
Ambrose told talkSPORT, “I think it’s great for Arteta. He seems to be the only manager that realises there’ll be five substitutes next season.
“If they can get those two signings across the line, Jesus and Raphinha, they’re fantastic signings.
“If you’re Chelsea and Manchester United, where nothing is happening at the moment, just links, you’ve got to be a little bit concerned,” he said.
