Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has allegedly abandoned his official duties, according to legal practitioner Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa.
The Lagos helmsman now functions as Tinubu’s “unofficial campaign manager, media strategist, and personal anchorman,” according to a statement released on Saturday by the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
“The Governor has only been in office for a short time. The Governor has announced a motorcycle prohibition, but he is not on the ground to monitor the daily catastrophe that has resulted from the declaration.”
Adegboruwa bemoaned the fact that the rainy season in Lagos is always a dreadful experience for residents, resulting in flooding, excessive traffic, and fatalities.
“However, the Governor has not been in his seat to address these issues.” In Lagos, crime has been on the rise recently.”
Because of Sanwo-absence, Olu’s Adegboruwa believes that state resources will be used in campaign activities, and that most government officials will abandon their responsibilities for political and corporate interests.
He cautioned that the Governor’s “abdication” of his powers in pursuit of Tinubu’s political ambitions would have far-reaching ramifications.
Sanwo-Olu should return to Lagos and execute his constitutional responsibilities for functional administration, according to the lawyer.
“His Excellency was not elected as a politician’s campaign manager, but as an administrator,”
His statement went on to say.
