Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has told all of the church’s provinces to start “Operation show your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC)” to get members involved in politics in 2023.
Nigeria will have its general elections early in 2023.
In a letter to the provincial pastors dated June 17, 2022, the Intercontinental Youth Pastor/PICR, Belemina Obunge, said the following:
“We want to let you know that the Mission Authority has told us to make sure that all of our parishes have a lot of information about how important it is for all of our members to get their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
“Based on the above, Provincial Headquarters and Mega Parishes are encouraged to use their parish as a center for one or two days to help their members and interested neighbors register, since the deadline for the Continuous Voter Registration exercise (June 30, 2022) is coming up soon.
“Provinces will have to send the office of the undersigned a summary of how parishes are following the above directive, including the number of adult members and the number of PVCs counted.
“The report is due on or before June 27, 2022, so that it can be put together for the Mission Authority.”
Millions of people belong to the RCCG, which is one of the biggest churches in Nigeria.
