Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, are both from Nigeria. They have been officially charged with conspiring to help another person get to another country so that their organs could be taken.
Met Police said the couple was charged with “conspiracy to arrange and help another person travel for the purpose of exploitation, in this case organ harvesting.”
When the couple went to the Uxbridge Magistrate Court on Thursday afternoon, they were told that they could not get bail.
The alleged victim is said to be a 15-year-old boy who lived on the streets of Lagos and was brought to the U.K. by Mr. and Mrs.
The suspects are still in jail, and the case has been moved to July 7, 2022.
