Sheikh Ibrahim Aliyu Kaduna, a well-known Islamic preacher, has criticized northern governors elected on the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for president.
The cleric criticized the governors for choosing Tinubu, who he said was unhealthy and not in good shape.
He was also against the APC and Tinubu’s choice of a northern Christian as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
Sheikh Aliyu Kaduna said in a video that went viral that he would organize against the ruling party if it chose a Christian from the north as its vice presidential candidate. He also said that the APC was sure to lose the election.
He said that the APC governors in the north were trading the fate of Muslims in the North.
“Northern governors, especially the Muslims among you, are treacherous because you sold our future, and God will punish you for that.
“You didn’t follow a very important Islamic rule. In Islam, the first thing people look for in a leader is that they are healthy and fit.
“Your second mistake will be to put him with a Christian from our area. This would be a bad idea because we would work to get people to vote against the ticket at the polling places, according to what he told the Daily Post.
