Carlos Tevez, who used to play as a striker for Manchester City, has been hired as the new coach of Rosario Central.
The news came out Tuesday in a tweet from Rosario Central’s Twitter account.
It posted:
“Carlos Tévez is #RosarioCentral’s manager!
“Apache became the new coach of Auriazul after signing a one-year contract with the club. Carlos “El Chapa” Retegui will work with him as a coach.
Tevez just announced that he is giving up professional football at the age of 38 because his father died.
The former Argentina international player said that his father, who was his biggest fan, died in early 2021. This is why he decided to stop playing, even though MLS wanted him to keep going.
Tevez played for West Ham, Manchester United, and Manchester City in the Premier League from 2006 to 2013.
He had most recently been playing with Boca Juniors, the team he grew up with in Argentina.
