The national chairman of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, is worried about how many senators are leaving the party.

After a private meeting with APC senators on June 22, Adamu talked to the media and said that he was sad that they had left the organization.

He did say, though, that switching sides is normal during election season. Adamu said, “Every time there’s an election, these kinds of substeps make people sneeze. Nigeria is not the only one, and neither is the APC.

“So, I don’t give a damn about what’s going on in other parties. What I care about is what’s going on in our party.

“You know that this isn’t just happening in APC, right? Because we are the party in power, people pay more attention to our problems.

“No responsible leader wouldn’t care if they lost just one member, let alone two or three.

“Right now, we’re facing the harsh reality of their problems, but my colleagues and I on the National Working Committee are committed to facing them head-on and solving them by God’s grace.”
