The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has put a stop to train services between Abuja and Kaduna.
Following a bandit attack on a train, NRC halted operations on the route.

During the raid, eight passengers perished, and many more were kidnapped.

The railway service was set to restart on Monday, May 23, 2022, but NRC spokeswoman Yakubu Mahmood said a new date would be announced soon in a statement on Friday.

The statement reads, “Sequel to our earlier Press Release No. 10 dated 16th May 2022 on the above caption, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) is announcing a shift in the resume date for Abuja Kaduna.”

Mahmood further reassured the bereaved relatives that the authorities were working tirelessly to achieve the victims’ release.
