The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has stated that Abba Kyari, the former Deputy Commissioner of Police, is secure in jail because his life is not under danger.
Mr Francis Enobore, the Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), revealed this in an Abuja statement on Thursday.
Following a release by an online media organization saying Kyari was attacked by his fellow convicts, Enobore said it was imperative to address the problem.
The spreader of fake news also claimed that the Service’s authorities were considering transferring Kyari to DSS custody.
“The story is false, reckless, and mischievous,” he stated.
“It’s the work of a few jobless, cheap recognition-seeking charlatans posing as journalists, who lack the intellectual capacity to question what they imagine or hear before feeding the public.
“The author’s complete lack of understanding of where and how a suspect is detained says volumes about his ineptness and how much his story should be trusted.”
“For the fact, Abba Kyari is one of around 800 convicts being held in the facility where he is being held.
“However, renowned individuals like as former governors, ministers, senators, and other personalities of higher social stature have walked through the same facility without facing any danger,” he stated.
